What Is
Elite 8?

The Legends Elite 8 is a boys’ lacrosse tournament hosted by Legends Lacrosse on November 7th and 8th, 2026 at St. Joseph High School in Metuchen, New Jersey. It runs as two separate one-day tournaments — one Saturday, one Sunday — each built on a true championship format rather than pool play. Only eight teams are accepted per grad year per day, with every team getting one scheduled game to open. Winners advance to a four-team playoff bracket and the teams that fall move into a four-team consolation bracket, so every roster plays three games and one champion is crowned in each grad year. The invite-only field size is the point: eight teams deep means no filler games and a real bracket run from the opening whistle.

Elite 8 is boys only, open to grad years 2030 through 2036. The two days are split by competition level so teams land in the right field: Saturday, November 7th is reserved for AA divisions across 2030–2036, and Sunday, November 8th hosts the A/B divisions for those same grad years. With a hard cap of eight teams per grad year per day, spots are limited and clubs are encouraged to secure a bid early.

Legends Lacrosse runs the event at Saint Joseph High School in Metuchen, NJ — an all-boys Catholic school with a turf stadium field and grass fields on a 70-acre campus, so everything stays on one site. Metuchen is an easy weekend stop: one of the most walkable downtowns in New Jersey, with roughly 30 restaurants along Main Street, hotels nearby in the Edison–Woodbridge area, and quick access off the Turnpike and Parkway about 30 miles from NYC.
